Joke for Your Day

Well, thanks to a skilled surgeon and your good thoughts and prayers, my sinus surgery went swimmingly. I did have a muscle spasm while they were inserting a breathing tube, so the back of my throat got scraped pretty good and is quite sore, but that's nothing.

During this early part of my recovery, however, I can't sit up straight for any length of time without getting a nosebleed, so I'll be keeping the intros short and sweet this week.

Thanks again for all of your prayers, well wishes, and especially for those of you who sent e-cards. They are most appreciated!

An elderly woman's doctor retired and she had to to find a new physician. At her first appointment, the doctor asked her to list all the medications she was taking. When he reviewed the list, he noticed that a birth control pill was included.

"Why on earth do you need a prescription for birth control pills at your age?" he asked.

"They help me sleep better," the woman replied.

"But," says the doctor, "there is absolutely nothing in these pills that will help you sleep."

"It's like this," says the woman, "every morning I grind one up and mix it in with my teenage granddaughter's orange juice. And then I sleep better at night."
