Links to these firmware updates - and updates for other EOS digital cameras - are available on the EOS magazine firmware updates page at:

TOUCHSCREEN FOR EOS CAMERAS?
Canon has filed a patent for a touchscreen suitable for EOS cameras. If it appears on future models, users will be able to navigate menus and change camera settings by stroking the LCD monitor.
WEDDING ASSIGNMENT WITH EOS 1D MARK IV
Pro photographer Jeff Ascough has posted a review of the EOS 1D Mark IV camera, along with a series of his images taken at a wedding. He is impressed by the quality, as you can read at:

CANON BOY/NIKON GIRL RAP
If you are looking for a little light relief, check out the YouTube movie at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_H8TOKcfjg
Sung in rap style, it is a modern-day Romeo and Juliet tale about a Canon photographer who falls for a Nikon user. Very amusing, but be warned that some of the lyrics are colourful. Pentax users might also find it offensive!
EXTREME PHOTOGRAPHY
If you have ever wondered how well the EOS 7D will survive in a snow blizzard, take a look at the field review by Ole Jorgen Liodden at:
http://canonfieldreviews.com/7d-1-weather-sealing/
However, wrap up warm first, as the picture of the 7D sitting in the snow will make you shiver.
For an even more extreme example of Canon quality, read all about the EOS Rebel XT (EOS 350D) which fell 3000 feet - and kept on working.

THE WORLD'S LARGEST DIGITAL IMAGE
Prepare to be amazed. A media company in Dresden, Germany, has created a 26 gigapixel image. It is made up of 1665 images (each 21.4 megapixels) shot with an EOS 5D Mark II and 400mm lens. A photo-robot moved the camera between each exposure. Converting the 102GB of RAW data on a computer took 92 hours. If you go to:
http://www.dresden-26-gigapixels.com/dresden26GP
you will be able to see the final image and zoom in to reveal detail not visible when the full image is shown. Wow!
CAN-DO FILM FESTIVAL AND COMPETITION
The Can-Do film competition is open to filmmakers worldwide - but entries must be shot on one of the EOS cameras which offer movie mode (EOS 1D Mark IV, 5D Mark II, 7D or 500D). The film must be four minutes or less and fit one of the ten listed catagories. Prizes include EOS cameras and Zeiss lenses. The competition closes on 20 March 2010. For full details go to:

The EOS magazine shop offers a couple of DVDs on making movies with EOS cameras. See:
