Join MCHC Today!
A special Thank You! to our charter members from 2007 and 2008, for making it possible for us to continue this important work!

With economies and ecosystems unraveling all around, it's clear we need bold and decisive action NOW for a healthy, just, green future. Yet the powers-that-be are still stuck on "politically feasible" illusions - like bailouts for banksters and bandaids for the obsolete fossil-fuel economy. Please take this opportunity to join MCHC today and become part of a movement that will fight for real public-interest solutions that are proportionate to the crisis.

Through projects like our Secure Green Future local ballot question – calling for dramatic reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and a jumpstart to local green economies and sustainable jobs – MCHC has helped demonstrate that the people of Massachusetts are ahead of the politicians (www.securegreenfuture.org). That ballot question won with a landslide 81.4% YES vote.

Following up on that success, we focused our attention on one of the worst culprits on climate and health the coal industry. We helped organize rallies statewide in coal plant communities, bringing together the peace, justice, and climate movements, and helped catalyze an emerging call for 100% renewable electricity in Massachusetts in 10 years.

We will expand on this progress by building the campaign for 100% renewable electricity in MA in 10 years, holding an exciting statewide Relocalization Conference (Oct. 18) showcasing initiatives underway to build strong, local green economies, and coordinating local organizing for a powerful international day of climate action (October 24th, see 350.org).

But to continue this work with you, we need your support! Please seize this moment of opportunity – join MCHC and make a donation now. In so doing, you will ensure that we can be a principled, incorruptible presence in the debate over our future. With your help, we can build momentum across the state to pull us back from the brink and build the healthy, just, sustainable future we deserve.

Please respond today. To join as a member, click here to sign up or fill out the membership/contribution form below and return it by mail or email. If you would like to donate online without becoming a member, click here.

Thanks for all you're doing for a secure, green future!

Upward,
Jill Stein, MD, Co-Founder, Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy Communities
