Subject: A Day for Democracy
Dear friends and supporters,
There's a story in today's Boston Globe that makes crystal clear the enormous potential of our campaign at this moment in time: "Spill emerges as campaign issue across the nation." The article explores the anger that voters feel when they learn the full extent of "the relationship between government and the industries it regulates," and how that feeling of betrayal might affect the outcome of this year's elections.
The anger is understandable - look no further than the Louisiana shoreline for evidence of what 30 years of bipartisan deregulation has achieved. We've been saying this all along - only a party that operates outside the totally bankrupt two-party US political system can create the kind of change we desperately need in this country.
And we have a chance to make it a reality in Massachusetts this year. But we need your help, and, right now, we need your financial support, too. If you're angry about the total lack of representation you feel, at all levels of government, and if you're feeling like you've been pushed to the margins while the needs of the wealthy and powerful are attended to, then you're not alone. But you have a choice - you can stay silent, or you can fight back.
